Facilities & Other Services
The Office of Administration maintains broad oversight of the School of Arts and Sciences facilities, in seventy-seven buildings across all four campuses. The Facilities office provides support to departments in space planning and management, renovations, capital projects as well as regular repair and maintenance.
The OOA Facilities staff liaises between the School and University Facilities and Capital Planning, the Division of Administration and Public Safety, the Office of Scheduling, Space Management and Enhanced Classroom Support, as well as other Central offices that are charged with responsibilities for space. On behalf of the Executive Dean, the Facilities office works with SAS departments to manage space allocations between departments and to oversee capital projects that affect multiple departments.
Maintenance & Internal Matters
A number of departments in the Universiity have responsibility for handling maintenance and repairs in buildings.
The Division of Administration and Public Safety provides a wide variety of services to departments, including Police, Emergency Management, Environmental Health and Safety, and transportation.
The SAS Dean's office manages the procurement and deployment of photocopiers throughout the School.
Renovations & Construction
Planning for and managing renovation projects and large scale construction projects require coordinated collaboration of various University offices.
Space Planning & Allocation
The Facilities office works with departments on School-wide space planning, inter-departmental space allocations, and space relocations.
Furniture & Surplus
Rutgers University provides guidelines and support in the procurement of new furniture, the redistribution of surplus furniture and the delivery, installation, relocation, and disposal of all furniture and equipment.
